This is an installment of a daily project I’m launching for the month of October. I’ll create work revolving around the theme of identity and regrowth and I’ll update my blog with behind the scenes content, process, and finished artwork. Click through to read more. Catch up on the ongoing narrative here.
This was fun to film! One day before filming some ocean scenes for A Promise, I set up my tripod and got some footage of me rendering this drawing of Vincent Price. He was initially a part of my classic gothic horror portraits (though he doesn’t particularly fit as he’s not a monster).
Fun fact about Vincent Price: When his daughter was just about to lose her last baby tooth, Vincent had a pair of fake dentures waiting for her as a gift from the Tooth Fairy. Her tooth took forever to come out! He ended up carrying these teeth with him on vacations and trips just in case she ended up losing her tooth while they were away from home. That takes dedication. Also, his daughter’s name is Victoria. I love all the spooky girls that I share the same name with. :)
Watch me draw him below and let me know how you liked it. The music makes me wish I were at Disneyland. (And if you’re like me, take a peek at my Disneyland photos from last Halloween and imagine you’re still there. The pumpkin decorations are adorable.)
Music is by Carroll Gibbons and the Savory Hotel Orpheans. The song is When Erastus Plays His Old Kazoo.
There are only 7 more days until Halloween! Don’t forget to enter my Frankenstein giveaway! All you have to do is follow me and tag a friend in the comments of this photo.
