This is an installment of a daily project I’m launching for the month of October. I’ll create work revolving around the theme of identity and regrowth and I’ll update my blog with behind the scenes content, process, and finished artwork. Click through to read more. Catch up on the ongoing narrative here.
Today’s a short day. On Saturday, the art store had a surprise 25% off sale. So I immediately stocked up on pens and paper, as you do. I finally found the perfect paper for my pens – Bristol Smooth. The sound of the pen dragging across its surface is perfection. I don’t quite know how else to describe it. Maybe I’ll make a video to show you soon.
The Sun is a radiant card of optimism. It’s that often fleeting feeling you get when you feel like a child waking up on a Saturday morning, ready to eat homemade pancakes and eager to watch Saturday morning cartoons. It’s feeling fulfilled and at peace with yourself and with your path. It’s sunshine filtering through the forest leaves and creating patterns on your back as you lay in the grass. It’s the ocean tickling your toes and the sand scratching at your skin. It’s pure warmth and energy in all its simplicity.
If you get this card in a reading, it points to something in your life that fulfills you. It affirms your choices and path in life. It beckons you to enjoy the simple pleasures and to indulge yourself.
How many times have you watched Nightmare Before Christmas this season? I’m up to five.
